The Duke of Sussex is said to have written his memoir for his \u201cown happiness\u201d.<\/p>\n
A source told the Daily Telegraph newspaper on Saturday, his motivation for producing his upcoming autobiography \u2018SPARE\u2019 was to do something \u201cfor himself\u201d.<\/p>\n
The insider said about the reasons behind the book, due out on January 10: \u201cYou can\u2019t kind of always live your life trying to make your family or your siblings happy. You have to choose your own happiness.\u201d<\/p>\n
Denying reports the book will attack the royals, sources added to the Telegraph it will not be a \u201ctakedown of his family\u201d, but instead is a \u201cbeautiful read\u201d. <\/p>\n
It comes as royal experts have said Harry, 38, may travel to Britain to promote the autobiography so he can explain the \u201cintent\u201d behind it.<\/p>\n
There are also reports the book\u2019s publication could see retaliation from the palace, including stripping him and his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 41, of their royal titles.<\/p>\n
Brand expert Nick Ede said Harry\u2019s decision to call the upcoming book \u2018SPARE\u2019 \u2013 a reference to his nickname \u201cthe spare heir\u201d \u2013 is also aimed at showing the royal has been \u201cthrough a lot\u201d, but shows his \u201csense of humour\u201d.<\/p>\n
Nick told the \u201cMailOnline\u201d Femail section on Thursday: \u201cThe choice of the title \u2018SPARE\u2019 is not only provocative but also leans into Harry\u2019s sense of humour too. <\/p>\n
\u201cAlthough it is a bold choice, it\u2019s a brave one and it sets out immediately that this book will be anything but showing that Prince Harry is a \u2018spare\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe use of the singular title is one of empowerment and strength.<\/p>\n
\u201cA singular word for a book title is empowering and using \u2018spare\u2019 is a way of reclaiming it and making it a powerful empowering tool for himself and for the reader.\u201d<\/p>\n
It has been reported Harry was paid a $20 million (R364m) advance for the book as part of a three-title deal worth \u00a336.8m (R776m), but the royal has donated $1.5-million from it to the children\u2019s charity Sentebale and \u00a3300\u00a0000 (about R6.3m) to WellChild, a charity for disabled youngsters for which he serves as patron.<\/p>\n
