{"id":1237491,"date":"2022-10-28T17:24:34","date_gmt":"2022-10-28T17:24:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/28\/take-control-of-economic-management-team-mahama-tells-akufo-addo\/"},"modified":"2022-10-28T17:24:34","modified_gmt":"2022-10-28T17:24:34","slug":"take-control-of-economic-management-team-mahama-tells-akufo-addo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/28\/take-control-of-economic-management-team-mahama-tells-akufo-addo\/","title":{"rendered":"Take Control Of Economic Management Team- Mahama Tells Akufo-Addo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Former President John Mahama has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to take control and reconstitute his Economic Management Team.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, sacking the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta alone is not enough.<\/p>\n<p>He said President Akufo-Addo must \u201creconstitute and take control of the economic management team himself,\u201d which is normally headed by the Vice President.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking on the state of the economy, Mr. Mahama was of the view that the Finance Minister\u2019s position was currently untenable.<\/p>\n<p>This follows the call by some Majority MPs for the dismissal of Mr. Ofori-Atta, and the Minister of State at the Finance Ministry, Charles Adu Boahen.<\/p>\n<p>But the President stepped down the calls from his own party for Mr. Ofori-Atta to be replaced and asked that he be given time to complete the International Monetary Fund deal and 2023 budget.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone  wp-image-382647\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/NDC-gurus-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"725\" height=\"483\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>However, the former President believes there is no basis for the President\u2019s appeal, saying \u201cBudget preparations and IMF negotiations are the results of teamwork. They are not the work of one individual.
