{"id":1237330,"date":"2022-10-28T14:35:01","date_gmt":"2022-10-28T14:35:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/28\/mahamas-recommendations-are-much-ado-about-nothing\/"},"modified":"2022-10-28T14:35:01","modified_gmt":"2022-10-28T14:35:01","slug":"mahamas-recommendations-are-much-ado-about-nothing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/28\/mahamas-recommendations-are-much-ado-about-nothing\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;Mahama&#8217;s recommendations are much ado about nothing&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has described former President John Mahama\u2019s speech on the state of the economy as a desperate attempt to return to power.<\/p>\n<p>The former President on Thursday, October 27, 2022, described current economic challenges as the worst Ghana has ever witnessed and <span style=\"color: #666699;\"><strong>recommended<\/strong><\/span> amongst other things a cut down in government expenditure as a measure to restore fiscal stability.<\/p>\n<p>But the ruling party says the alternatives proffered are not relevant to the challenges faced by the country.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, Deputy General Secretary of the NPP, Haruna Mohammed, indicated that the recommendations are much ado about nothing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is rather unfortunate that listening to His Excellency the former president, you do not hear any pointy alternatives. They are all lamentations and rhetorics, all desperate attempts to return to power.
