New York \u2013 The New York Post<\/em> on Thursday said it has been hacked after several offensive articles and tweets were published on the publication\u2019s website and Twitter account.<\/p>\n Reports said that the New York Pos<\/em>t\u2019s content management system (CMS) may have been hacked to post offensive articles.<\/p>\n \u201cThe New York Post<\/em> has been hacked. We are currently investigating the cause,\u201d the publication said in a tweet.<\/p>\n Cybercriminals posted offensive tweets via SocialFlow, a popular website plugin used to push stories to social media sites.<\/p>\n According to , the tweets had links that took users to web pages on the Post<\/em>\u2018s website.<\/p>\n The articles and tweets were racist and sexually violent in nature which were later pulled out.<\/p>\n \u201cConfirming that the Post<\/em> was hacked. The vile and reprehensible content posted has been removed, and we\u2019re still investigating the cause,\u201d a company spokesperson was quoted as saying.<\/p>\n Last month US-based business news publication Fast Company\u2019<\/em>s CMS was hacked and two obscene and racist push notifications were sent to users via its Apple News<\/em> alerts.<\/p>\n Apple immediately addressed the incident and disabled Fast Company<\/em>\u2018s channel on its platform.<\/p>\n \u201cThe messages are vile and not in line with the content and ethos of Fast Company<\/em>,\u201c the publication said in a tweet, after taking down its website.<\/p>\n Apple said in a tweet that \u201can incredibly offensive alert was sent by Fast Company,<\/em> which has been hacked.
