ep2nwvo0\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Lady Poole quit the role earlier this month for personal reasons and now the Scottish government has announced Lord Brailsford will take over from Friday. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">The inquiry has also seen the resignation of four members of its legal team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Deputy first minister John Swinney said Lord Brailsford had the necessary \u201cskills, integrity and experience\u201d to continue the work of the Covid inquiry. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">Mr Swinney told Holyrood he was confident the swift replacement of Lady Poole meant the inquiry would not be delayed. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">The Scottish Covid-19 inquiry will look at the Scottish government\u2019s actions throughout the pandemic, from introducing lockdown to the delivery of testing and vaccines.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\" class=\"ssrcss-11r1m41-RichTextComponentWrapper ep2nwvo0\">\n<div class=\"ssrcss-7uxr49-RichTextContainer e5tfeyi1\">\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph eq5iqo00\">It will also focus on infection control in care homes, including the transfer of patients from hospitals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"unordered-list-block\" Swinney said it would now be for the new chairman to determine how handover arrangements will work in practice.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div data-component=\"text-block\"
