Mobile Money Agents in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti Region are protesting against MTN Ghana\u2019s Mobile Money \u201cdirect cashing\u201d transaction system.<\/p>\n

According to the group, the introduction of the system will adversely affect their commission on transactions.<\/p>\n

Spokesperson, Daniel Martey, says members want the normal cash-in routine to continue.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey want us to stop the normal cash-in routine and rather load customers\u2019 wallets. As agents we cannot cooperate\u00a0with the directives\u00a0of the telecom giant\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

According to the group, the initiative will affect their business and profit.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe use to earn about 40% on cash-out but recently it has dropped to 36%, and our business is diminishing slowly. The direct cash in the initiative will create problems between customers and agents,\u201d he bemoaned.<\/p>\n
