{"id":1235053,"date":"2022-10-26T12:30:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-26T12:30:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/26\/gepa-sponsors-ghanas-chocolatiers-to-winex-2022-event-in-south-africa\/"},"modified":"2022-10-26T12:30:20","modified_gmt":"2022-10-26T12:30:20","slug":"gepa-sponsors-ghanas-chocolatiers-to-winex-2022-event-in-south-africa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/26\/gepa-sponsors-ghanas-chocolatiers-to-winex-2022-event-in-south-africa\/","title":{"rendered":"GEPA sponsors Ghana&#8217;s Chocolatiers to WineX 2022 event in South Africa\u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>By Albert Allotey<\/p>\n<p>Accra, Oct. 26, GNA \u2013 The Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) in partnership with\u00a0organisers of the WineX Show has facilitated and sponsored some selected indigenous\u00a0Ghanaian artisanal chocolatiers to participate in the show in Johannesburg, South Africa. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The upcoming three-day show at the Sandton Convention is scheduled from October 26 to\u00a0October 29, 2022.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The selected Ghanaian Chocolate brands are All Save Chocolates, Sekoe Chocolates, Niche\u00a0Chocolates, Bioko Treats, Adansi Sweets, Kabi Chocolates, Honico Chocolates, and Rhocece\u00a0Chocolates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The facilitation, which was supported by DUAM Communications and JON WILLIAMS Consult\u00a0was to enable these brands to showcase made in Ghana Chocolates in the upcoming WineX\u00a0show.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A statement issued in Accra by the organisers said the event, which is the biggest Wine show\u00a0in the Southern Hemisphere returns in 2022 with a delicious touch of Artisanal Chocolates\u00a0from Ghana.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>It said the Ghanaian Chocolatiers were selected to present selected Premium Ghanaian\u00a0Chocolates in pairing with South African Wines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The selection was done with the objective of strengthening the competitive position of Ghana\u00a0cocoa and cocoa-based products in Africa and in furtherance the objective to create market\u00a0access for Ghanaian chocolate brands in South Africa, the statement said. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dr Afua Asabea Asare, CEO of GEPA, speaking in Johannesburg ahead of the event expressed\u00a0optimism about the limitless opportunities for Ghanaian cocoa products to become globally\u00a0competitive.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She said it was for this reason that GEPA had to support the Chocolatiers in the exploration\u00a0of international markets such as South Africa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dr Asare commended Ghana\u2019s High Commissioner to South Africa, Mr. Charles Asuako\u00a0Owiredu for the instrumental role he played in facilitating and ensuring the success of this\u00a0innovative project.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She also commended the invaluable support the Ghana Mission in Pretoria under his leadership\u00a0played in ensuring the success of this trade mission. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>She challenged the Ghanaian chocolatiers to use this opportunity to explore the value-added\u00a0demand offerings for cocoa-based products in South Africa and Africa in general. \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dr Asare expressed optimism about Ghana\u2019s participation in the future editions of WineX as\u00a0another export market for Ghana\u2019s cocoa industry to become an innovative industry leader\u00a0when the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement is fully implemented to\u00a0promote intra-African trade.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>GNA\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><h3 class=\"jp-relatedposts-headline\"><em>Related News<\/em><\/h3>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script type=\"384dad3b06403b30bfc8b765-text\/javascript\">(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)[0];
