Just a day after announcing that it would be cutting ties with Kanye West, adidas has withdrawn any trace of its collaboration with the US rapper from its South African online store.<\/p>\n
In an official statement, the German company said, \u201cadidas does not tolerate anti-Semitism and any other sort of hate speech.<\/p>\n
\u201cYe\u2019s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company\u2019s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.\u201d<\/p>\n
A quick search for Yeezy apparel on the local website yielded an error with a message saying, \u201cWe can\u2019t seem to find the page you are looking for\u201d.<\/p>\nPicture: https:\/\/www.adidas.co.za\/<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
But the rapper\u2019s anti-Semitic remarks may have cost him more than a lucrative deal with adidas and Balenciaga.<\/p>\n
Page Six quoted a Forbes report according to which West\u2019s worth is $400-million now after the Adidas partnership was terminated. The Yeezy deal accounted for $1.5-billion of his net worth.<\/p>\n
West legally changed his name from Kanye to Ye and had been collaborating with adidas on his Yeezy shoe line since 2013.<\/p>\n
This development comes just days after Balenciaga cut ties with the rapper. <\/p>\n
Post that, while speaking to TMZ Kanye said, \u201cI ain\u2019t losing no money\u2026 The day I was taken off the Balenciaga site, that was one of the most freeing days.\u201d<\/p>\n
He said that people are merely cutting ties with him to \u201cmute\u201d him. He mentioned that people are doing so to simply \u201cscore points,\u201d according to Page Six.<\/p>\n
He further added that it\u2019s not easy to cancel him \u2013 \u201cWe here, baby, we ain\u2019\u2019t going nowhere\u201d. <\/p>\n
He defended his anti-Semitic commend and told TMZ, \u201cI want to talk about the Jewish comment, it\u2019s actually proven the exact point that I made\u201d.<\/p>\n
Kanye West recently hired Johnny Depp\u2019s lawyer Camille Vasquez to handle his business matters. However, it looks like the two are not going to work together after all.<\/p>\n
