{"id":1234479,"date":"2022-10-25T21:55:36","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T21:55:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/25\/kenmustgo-remain-calm-we-are-seeking-amicable-resolution-to-impasse-stephen-ntim\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T21:55:36","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T21:55:36","slug":"kenmustgo-remain-calm-we-are-seeking-amicable-resolution-to-impasse-stephen-ntim","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/25\/kenmustgo-remain-calm-we-are-seeking-amicable-resolution-to-impasse-stephen-ntim\/","title":{"rendered":"#KenMustGo: Remain calm, we are seeking amicable resolution to impasse &#8211; Stephen Ntim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/stephen_ntim.jpg\" alt=\"Remain calm, we are seeking amicable resolution to impasse - Stephen Ntim\" class=\" bd-imagestyles-16\"\/><\/p>\n<p>\nRemain calm, we are seeking amicable resolution to impasse &#8211; Stephen Ntim <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h2>The leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has urged all stakeholders to remain calm, as the party seeks an amicable resolution to impasse of whether or not Mr Ken Ofori-Atta should be removed as Finance Minister.<\/h2>\n<p>In a statement issued Tuesday night, National Chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim said the leadership was\u00a0<span>committed to at all times, to engage government on issues of utmost interest and concern to the party, government, and the\u00a0citizenry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span\/>The development follows a back bench rebellion in Parliament, as some majority NPP MPs have called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to sack Ken Ofori-Atta and Charles Adu Boahen from the Finance Ministry in the wake of the economic challenges facing the country.<\/p>\n<p>Already President Akufo-Addo last week said there was no basis to sack Mr Ofori-Atta.<\/p>\n<p>Also in Parliament today, the Minority side filed a motion for the impeachment of the Finance Minister and called on the Majority side to support the move.<\/p>\n<p>Economist Kwame Pianim on his part has called on Ghanaians to rally behind President Akufo-Addo to drive the economy out of its current challenges.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&#8216;Parliamentary rebellion&#8217;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Speaking on behalf of the group of NPP MPs wanting to see Mr Ofori-Atta out, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, the NPP MP for Asante Akyem North they also want Charles Adu Boahen, a Minister of State at the Finance Ministry to be also removed.<\/p>\n<p>Their reason is that, this will help restore hope in the economy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Below is a copy of the statement.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The National Executive body of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken notice of a press conference held on Tuesday October 25, 2022, by some members of the Majority Caucus of Parliament, demanding amongst others, the immediate resignation or dismissal of Hon. Ken\u00a0Ofori-Atta, Minster for Finance; and Hon.
