{"id":1234381,"date":"2022-10-25T19:48:43","date_gmt":"2022-10-25T19:48:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/25\/minority-reacts-to-npp-mps-call-for-ofori-attas-sack\/"},"modified":"2022-10-25T19:48:43","modified_gmt":"2022-10-25T19:48:43","slug":"minority-reacts-to-npp-mps-call-for-ofori-attas-sack","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/25\/minority-reacts-to-npp-mps-call-for-ofori-attas-sack\/","title":{"rendered":"Minority reacts to NPP MPs&#8217; call for Ofori-Atta&#8217;s sack"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"464\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/dui-696x464.jpg\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The Minority in parliament has commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentarians who have demanded Ken Ofori-Atta\u2019s sack as Finance Minister.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Minority, the call of their colleagues is a step in the right direction and they expect that President Nana Akufo-Addo acts upon it.<\/p>\n<p>Bia East Member of Parliament (MP) and member of the Finance Committee, Richard Acheampong, made these comments on Adom FM\u2019s<strong> Kaisebo is Tasty<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The NPP MPs at a press conference on Tuesday impressed on the President to relieve his cousin of managing the national purse or risk losing their support for government business going forward.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large td-caption-align-https:\/\/www.adomonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-25-at-05.46.13_1406x1050.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"765\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-25-at-05.46.13_1406x1050-1024x765.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2175709\"  \/><figcaption>Bia East MP, Richard Acheampong <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>They disclosed their sentiments reflect the position of most of the NPP members in the House.<\/p>\n<p>Spokesperson, Andy Appiah-Kubi and Asante Akim North MP who addressed the briefing threatened that the Majority will not participate in any government business including the budget hearing until their demands were met.<\/p>\n<p>But to Mr Acheampong, the Majority should have called for a dissolution of the entire Economic Management Team (EMT) as well as Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia\u2019s sack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe commend them on the move but we believe the EMT must be dissolved. Bawumia must be sacked because Ken Ofori-Atta cannot go without Bawumia.
