The New Patriotic Party (NPP)\u2019s Member of Parliament for Mpraeso says Ken Ofori-Atta\u2019s continuous stay in office as Ghana\u2019s Finance Minister is delaying the IMF bailout the country is seeking.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mr. Davis Opoku Ansah said Mr. Ofori-Atta does not have credibility before the Bretton Woods Institution.\u00a0<\/p>\n
According to him, the embattled Minister cannot lead the country into such valuable negotiations.<\/p>\n The outspoken MP has thus backed calls for his sacking.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cKen has spoken against credit rating agencies and the IMF. His continuous presence is delaying the program.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHe doesn\u2019t have the credibility to lead a debt restructuring program, hence his delegation of responsibility to a 5-member committee,\u201d he wrote in a Facebook post on Tuesday.\u00a0<\/p>\n The first time MP added that Mr. Ofori-Atta has lost the credibility of the entire nation.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cHe has lost the trust of many, including Members of Parliament and the whole country.<\/p>\n \u201cA fresh face will bring the 3 C\u2019s. Competence, confidence and credibility,\u201d he added.\u00a0<\/p>\n He concluded that, \u201che needs to help the President.
