Former Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick on the latest reports has been named as championship side Middlesbrough’s new head coach.<\/p>\n

This follows the sacking of Chris Wilder three weeks ago due to unpleasant results – picking just two wins in 11 outings.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Carrick, who after retirement in 2008 and took a coaching job at Old Trafford under the leadership of Jose Mourinho and then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer- for close to three years, will now put such training skills to the test in the hot seat at Riverside.<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old upon this huge announcement to recall started his first professional career with the said club at age 11 and now return in a much bigger role.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Boro last season reached playoffs and much expectation was for automatic promotion this season but now find themselves in the 20th position after 17 games – and the appointment of the English – believes will put the club back on track as they eye Premier League return for the first time since 2016\/2017 season.<\/p>\n
