Former President John Mahama has been interviewed on a number of shows for his opinion on matters affecting the African continent. One of the famous of such interviews was when John Mahama was interviewed by the BBC and asked if he had taken a bribe before. The political rivals of the NDC have consistently used this to attack the former president and insisted that he tainted his reputation with the answer that he gave.<\/p>\n

On Pan African TV\u2019s Alhaji and Alhaji, Solomon Owusu, a member of the New Patriotic Party lambasted John Mahama for his recent interview in the United States. Surrounded by panelists who were affiliated to the NDC, Solomon Owusu tried to rebut their arguments on the economic crises in the country to John Mahama\u2019s incompetency when he was in charge as President.<\/p>\n

Solomon bemoaned that the NDC keep on complaining and yet provide no solutions. He cited an example with John Mahama. John Mahama got the chance to speak to Hayde Adams, host of VOA\u2019s Straight Talk Africa earlier this month. The issues centered on his political career, trade and the economic crises in Ghana. According to John Mahama, Ghana\u2019s problems has to do with over borrowing and over spending on the part of the government.<\/p>\n

Solomon Owusu however insisted that Mahama\u2019s response on the economy was most deserving of a leader. He noted that this is the saddest interview he has seen of the former president and called on the NDC to learn to praise the government when it is needed instead of damaging the reputation of the country. The ruling NPP communicators have insisted that the financial challenges of the country are due to exogenous factors and not theirs. They have even gone a step forward to also blame the erstwhile John Mahama government for mismanaging the country.<\/p>\n
