Amy Schumer has slammed Kanye West for his \u201chateful\u201d anti-Semitic comments.<\/p>\n
The \u201cI Feel Pretty\u201d star insisted people are right to call out the \u2018Stronger\u2019 rapper for his recent remarks \u2013 including a tweet earlier this month in which he said he was \u201cgoing death con 3 on Jewish people\u201d \u2013 because it should be \u201ccompletely unacceptable\u201d to spread hate.<\/p>\n
She told E! News: \u201cI think we have to make it completely unacceptable to spread hate online.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we have to call it like it is. Kanye is anti-Semitic. These comments are hateful.\u201d<\/p>\n
Watch video:<\/strong><\/p>\n The 41-year-old star praised Twitter and Instagram for blocking West\u2019s access to the platforms in the wake of his comments, as she thinks they should be used to spread positive messages, not hurtful comments.<\/p>\n She added: \u201cIt\u2019s important because it\u2019ll just spread like it did before.<\/p>\n \u201cI think anti-Semitism and hating Jews is, like, something that\u2019s really weirdly acceptable in our country.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, I want to use my voice to say stop it, and also to talk about the Iranian women and what\u2019s going on there and just lift their voices up because we\u2019re all one.\u201d<\/p>\n As well as his controversial social media posts, West recently appeared on the \u2018Drink Champs\u2019 podcast and targeted \u201cJewish media\u201d and \u201cJewish Zionists\u201d, claiming Jewish people have \u201cowned\u201d the \u201cBlack voice\u201d and that \u201cthe Jewish community, especially in the music industry\u201d will \u201ctake us and milk us till we die\u201d.<\/p>\n West initially doubled down on his comments when he appeared on \u201cPiers Morgan Uncensored\u201d this week, declaring: \u201cNo, absolutely not\u201d \u2013 and when Piers asked if he knew the comments were racist, West said: \u201cYes, that\u2019s why I said it\u2026 I fought fire with fire. I\u2019m not here to get hosed down.\u201d<\/p>\n Related video:<\/strong><\/p>\n But later in the show, the 45-year-old rapper offered an apology, admitting: \u201cI will say, I\u2019m sorry for the people that I hurt with the DEFCON\u2026 the confusion that I caused. <\/p>\n \u201cI feel like I caused hurt and confusion and I\u2019m sorry for the families that had nothing to do with the trauma that I had been through.<\/p>\n \u201cHurt people, hurt people \u2013 and I was hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n
