The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti region has warned Member of Parliament for Manhyia South, Matthew Opoku Prempeh against attacking former President John Dramani Mahama.<\/span><\/p>\n

At a Press conference organized on Thursday, October 20, 2022 says the MP is attacking Mr Mahama in order to advance his ambitions of becoming the running mate of the ruling New Patriotic Party.<\/span><\/p>\n

It will be recalled that Dr Opoku Prempeh at the sod cutting ceremony for the Suame Interchange says the Asantes in the Ashanti region will teach the former president a bitter lesson for disrespecting them.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI thank God that the NDC did not get any better person than John Mahama. Therefore I have made my mouth ready for John Mahama.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is because we have not forgotten when he stood in Kumasi and insulted us. We are going to teach him wisdom. We will teach him to know that his words must be clean\u201d, he said.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, addressing the press, the Communication Director of the NDC in the Ashanti Region, Abass Nurudeen asked NAPO to keep the former President’s name out of his mouth.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We know you have aspirations of becoming a running mate, but if you think you will use Mahama to advance your aspirations, then we are battle ready for you.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We want to tell the Manhyia South MP that even if he has any sense as he claims, he should advance some to Bawumia to tackle the economic challenges so that people in his constituency – Alabar and Ashtown – to ameliorate the hardship and loss of livelihoods people are suffering\u201d, he said<\/span><\/p>\n
