{"id":1229910,"date":"2022-10-20T15:28:17","date_gmt":"2022-10-20T15:28:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/20\/nagrat-demands-withdrawal-of-new-ges-director-general\/"},"modified":"2022-10-20T15:28:17","modified_gmt":"2022-10-20T15:28:17","slug":"nagrat-demands-withdrawal-of-new-ges-director-general","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/20\/nagrat-demands-withdrawal-of-new-ges-director-general\/","title":{"rendered":"NAGRAT demands withdrawal of new GES Director-General"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) has kicked against the appointment of Dr. Eric Nkansah as acting Director General of the Ghana Education Service.<\/p>\n<p>NAGRAT contends that Dr. Nkansah is not a professional teacher and does not qualify to occupy the position.<\/p>\n<p>President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo relieved Prof. Opoku-Amankwa of his position as GES Director General in a letter dated October 17, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The teacher union expressed displeasure at the decision.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <strong>Citi News<\/strong>, the President of NAGRAT, Angel Carbonu said Dr. Nkansah\u2019s appointment must be withdrawn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are not happy with the appointment because the gentleman who has been appointed is not a teacher. He has no teaching certificate. He is a banking officer.
