Haitian singer and musician Mikaben has died following a medical incident on stage in Paris over the weekend, according to a statement from the venue for the performance. He was 41.<\/p>\n
Mikaben, whose name is Michael Benjamin, was performing with the Haitian group Carimi at the Accor Arena on Saturday when he became ill, the venue said in a\u00a0statement on Twitter<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cLast night during the Carimi concert, one of the singers, Michael Benjamin, Mikaben,\u201d the arena tweeted Sunday, \u201cdied after fainting on stage and despite the intervention of emergency services. The whole team at Accor Arena is terribly affected and sends all of its support to his family and loved ones during this painful time.\u201d<\/p>\n His wife,\u00a0Vanessa Fanfan, wrote that she had \u201clost her other half\u201d in tributes shared on Instagram.<\/p>\n \u201cHeavenly Father, I know you don\u2019t make mistakes and you won\u2019t give us what we can\u2019t bare [sic] but\u2026this pain is very heavy. Help me please or merciful Lord,\u201d Fanfan wrote.<\/p>\n Benjamin was also remembered by singer\u00a0Wyclef Jean<\/a>, who captioned a video of the two artists together shared on Twitter, \u201cRest In Peace King @mikaben Gone too soon #haiti.\u201d<\/p>\n The son of Hatian singer Lionel Benjamin, Mikaben composed, produced and performed various hit songs with Carimi, including \u201cBaby I Missed You,\u201d which has over 9 million views on Youtube.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
