The artist formerly known as\u00a0Kanye West\u00a0could face a lawsuit from the family of\u00a0George Floyd\u00a0for spreading the incorrect\u00a0and unproven narrative\u00a0that he died of a drug overdose during his wildly controversial\u00a0Drink Champs<\/em>\u00a0podcast\u00a0appearance.<\/p>\n Civil rights attorney Lee Merritt posted on Twitter Sunday that a lawsuit against Ye is under consideration based on the disgraced artist\u2019s \u201cfalse statements about the manner of his death.\u201d<\/p>\n Ye cited Candace Owens\u2019 latest documentary about Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement to support his claim that\u00a0fentanyl contributed to his death. Considering West previously admitted he\u00a0hasn\u2019t \u201cread any book,\u201d one can almost assume he didn\u2019t read about the\u00a0independent autopsy\u00a0which found that Floyd died from \u201casphyxia due to sustained forceful pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s also likely West\u00a0didn\u2019t read about\u00a0Dr. Martin Tobin, an expert in the physiology of breathing,\u00a0testifying\u00a0that Floyd died from a lack of oxygen due to the positioning of the victim\u2019s body, which brought about the actions of\u00a0former\u00a0Minneapolis officer Derek Chauvin. A jury of 12 individuals\u00a0found Chauvin\u00a0guilty\u00a0of\u00a0second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter,\u00a0based on the evidence presented, Dr. Tobin\u2019s testimony included.<\/p>\n
