{"id":1226410,"date":"2022-10-17T10:17:13","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T10:17:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/17\/starlife-assurance-pays-first-claim-for-its-my-clique-plan\/"},"modified":"2022-10-17T10:17:13","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T10:17:13","slug":"starlife-assurance-pays-first-claim-for-its-my-clique-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/17\/starlife-assurance-pays-first-claim-for-its-my-clique-plan\/","title":{"rendered":"StarLife Assurance pays first claim for its \u2018My Clique\u2019 plan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/Old-Tom-1024x811.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div id=\"article-text\">\n<p>StarLife Assurance has presented a cheque of \u00a210,000 to a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas SHS 1997 Year Group as the first claim payment to its new \u2018My Clique\u2019 life insurance policy.<\/p>\n<p>The StarLife \u2018My Clique\u2019 Plan which was launched 3 months ago is a group welfare insurance policy designed for old students\u2019 associations or alumni groups to provide financial compensation to members and their loved ones when unexpected life events occur.<\/p>\n<p>Emmanuel Glenn Addotey, the beneficiary of the \u00a210,000, lost his dad 3 months after the 1997 alumni of St. Aquinas SHS sign-up on the \u2018My Clique\u2019 policy when it was launched.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting the cheque to Mr Glenn Addotey, Alexander Twumasi, Head of Commercial Business of StarLife Assurance, said, \u201cMy Clique Plan is a novelty in the industry, especially for all alumni groups.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe introduced this unique product to minimise the many unscheduled contributions made by members of old students\u2019 associations when the unexpected such as total disability, critical illness and the death of a member, spouse or parent occur.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe good thing about this policy is that the sum assured paid is far bigger as compared to contributions usually made by alumni members\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At StarLife, we will continue to innovate to provide our clients with unique financial security solutions. We urge all alumni groups across the country to get on board the \u2018My Clique\u2019 policy to help reduce the financial burden on members, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Expressing his appreciation to StarLife Assurance for the payment of his claims, Mr Glenn Addotey, stated, \u201cwhen my group signed up for this policy a few months ago, I didn\u2019t expect that I would be the first beneficiary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis amount has never been paid before in our group and it has really helped me with the expenses of my dad\u2019s funeral. I want to urge all old students\u2019 associations to join this policy without hesitation.
