{"id":1226394,"date":"2022-10-17T10:06:10","date_gmt":"2022-10-17T10:06:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/17\/let-this-be-last-imf-mahama\/"},"modified":"2022-10-17T10:06:10","modified_gmt":"2022-10-17T10:06:10","slug":"let-this-be-last-imf-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/17\/let-this-be-last-imf-mahama\/","title":{"rendered":"Let This Be Last IMF &#8211; Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p><strong>John Mahama<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FORMER PRESIDENT John Dramani Mahama says Ghana should not go to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to seek a bailout anymore.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the current arrangement by the government to secure $3 million support to help re-anchor economic stability of the country ought to be the last one in the history of the nation.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Mahama told VOA in an interview recently that the NPP government must focus on the \u201cGhana Beyond Aid\u201d programme to build a resilient economy.<\/p>\n<p>He, however, stated that\u00a0IMF-supported programme would\u00a0restore investor confidence and bring debts back to sustainable levels.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cInvestors can again feel confident that they can bring their money to Ghana, then we start from there and maintain that prudence,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana is seeking support from the IMF for the 19th time.
