{"id":1224675,"date":"2022-10-14T16:26:34","date_gmt":"2022-10-14T16:26:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/14\/court-adjourns-ghana-premier-league-injunction-case-to-thursday\/"},"modified":"2022-10-14T16:26:34","modified_gmt":"2022-10-14T16:26:34","slug":"court-adjourns-ghana-premier-league-injunction-case-to-thursday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/14\/court-adjourns-ghana-premier-league-injunction-case-to-thursday\/","title":{"rendered":"Court adjourns Ghana Premier League injunction case to Thursday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\">\n<figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"559\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1662978360_412_Screenshot-2022-09-09-113211-696x559.png\"   alt=\"betPawa Premier League\" title=\"betPawa Premier League\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">betPawa Premier League<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The 2022\/23 Ghana Premier League remains suspended after the Human Rights Court adjourned AshantiGold\u2019s injunction case to Thursday, October 20, 2022.<\/p>\n<p>The court could not pass a final judgment on the case after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) appeared in court on Friday, October 14, 2022, for the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>AshGold, who have been demoted to Division Two for match-fixing, summoned GFA to the Human Rights High Court over claims of unjust demotion by the GFA after finding the club guilty of match manipulation.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The Miners filed an interlocutory injunction on the 2022\/2023 Ghana Premier League, which was granted.<\/p>\n<p>The 2022\/23 season was brought to a\u00a0halt on Thursday, September 29, 2022, following the injunction filed at the Human Rights High Court by Ashgold and served on the GFA\u2019s lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>The GFA subsequently communicated the decision to all sponsors, partners, and clubs.<\/p>\n<p>AshantiGold were found\u00a0guilty of match manipulation by the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association\u00a0in their home game against Inter Allies during the 2020\/2021 Ghana Premier League [GPL] season.<\/p>\n<p><strong>READ ALSO<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The DC demoted the two clubs to the country\u2019s third tier with all players and officials involved suspended.<\/p>\n<p>However, the players involved have been granted a stay of execution by the Court of Arbitration of sports after their appeal at the highest sports judiciary body.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the court hearing on Friday, Mark Addo, GFA Vice President told Citi Sports, \u201cIf they [Ashantigold] feel they went to the Appeals process and were still found guilty on the basis of that, the next level was for them to have gone to CAS.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven the players that were banned went to CAS and were given a reprieve.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf they choose not to go through the process, and go to court, which is fine. \u00a0Every dog will have his day in court.
