{"id":1223664,"date":"2022-10-13T15:40:37","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T15:40:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/13\/17-political-parties-face-ecs-axe\/"},"modified":"2022-10-13T15:40:37","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T15:40:37","slug":"17-political-parties-face-ecs-axe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/13\/17-political-parties-face-ecs-axe\/","title":{"rendered":"17 Political Parties Face EC&#8217;s Axe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Electoral Commission (EC) has served notice to revoke the registration of some 17 political parties in the country.<\/p>\n<p>According to the EC, these political parties have no offices at the national and regional levels as required by section 15 (1) (Act 574).<\/p>\n<p>In a notice published in the media, the EC stated that \u201cin a bid to ensure compliance with section 22 (1) of the Political Parties Act, 2000 (Act 574), the Electoral Commission undertook a nationwide exercise to inspect the offices of all registered political parties in Ghana.
