Kim Kardashian felt \u201cblindsided\u201d by the backlash to her work comments.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, the 41-year-old reality megastar caused controversy when she declared \u201cno one wants to work these days\u201d and claimed that those who wanted to succeed needed to \u201cget off their a**\u201d but admitted she was \u201ctested\u201d by the negative response to her words.<\/p>\n
She said: \u201cJust recently I got a lot of backlash for my \u2018Variety\u2019 article. <\/p>\n
\u201cWhen I made that statement, it wasn\u2019t a blanket statement toward all women. <\/p>\n
\u201cAs if I didn\u2019t think women work hard or respect the work that they do because I see it every single day. <\/p>\n
\u201cI am usually so together (but) I am being tested. <\/p>\n
\u201dThere is just so much going on. <\/p>\n
\u201cI said what I said about people working. <\/p>\n
\u201cDo I believe in that? Yes. I believe you have to work harder to do that but I was just so blindsided by how angry people.\u201d<\/p>\n
The SKIMS founder \u2013 who is the daughter of late lawyer Robert Kardashian and his ex-wife Kris Jenner \u2013 shot to fame alongside her now-world-famous family added that \u201cenough people were triggered\u201d by her comments and now \u201cunderstands\u201d that not everyone had been afforded the same opportunities of herself and her family.<\/p>\n
Speaking to sisters Kourtney and Khlo\u00e9 on Thursday\u2019s episode of \u201cThe Kardashians\u201d, she added: \u201cEnough people were triggered that I want to be responsible and understand why people feel the way that they feel. <\/p>\n
\u201cI do understand that not everyone was given the same opportunities that we were given.\u201d<\/p>\n
In March, Kim \u2013 who has North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and three-year-old Psalm with ex-husband Kanye West \u2013 claimed that people should \u201csurround themselves\u201d with people who are willing to work.<\/p>\n
She told \u201cVariety\u201d: \u201cGet off your f****** a** and work! <\/p>\n
\u201cIt seems like nobody wants to work these days. <\/p>\n
\u201cYou have to surround yourself with people that wanna work.\u201d<\/p>\n
