Most believe that the police are likely to take cases of GBV seriously.<\/p>\n<p>The report also showed that more than three-fourths (78%) of Ghanaians say violence against women is \u201cnot very common\u201d or \u201cnot at all common\u201d in their community.<\/p>\n<p>Most Ghanaians (85%) say it is \u201cnever justified for a man to physically discipline his wife. About one in seven think it is \u201csometimes\u201d (11%) or \u201calways\u201d (3%) justified.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMore than four in 10 respondents consider it somewhat likely\u201d (24%) or \u201cvery likely\u201d (18%) that a woman will be criticised or harassed if she reports gender-based violence to the authorities. Only one-third (35%) say this is \u201cvery unlikely\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>But almost nine out of 10 respondents (86%) believe that the police are likely to take cases of GBV seriously.
