\nAccording to him the fight against galamsay has become difficult for the Government because some members of the NPP are involved in it.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cOur own NPP people involved in the illegal mining business have made the fight against galamsay difficult. It\u2019s a fact that they are engaged galamsay.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nMr Glover made these remarks while contributing to discussions on the illegal menace in the country on Accra-based Adom TV.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nHe says he does not understand why soldiers have to move all the way from Accra to the bushes to chase and arrest illegal miners when they are Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) who are head of security at the local level.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nThe issue of illegal mining has become topical in recent time in the Ghanaian media following the release of images and videos showing how Ghana\u2019s water bodies are being destroyed by activities of illegal miners.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n

\nPresident Akufo-Addo renewed efforts to curb the illegal mining by engaging members of the National House of Chiefs and pleading with them to assist the government win the war against the menace.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n
