Bernard Acquah<\/strong><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/p>\n MTN GHANA has joined the global community to create awareness on the importance of Cybersecurity, best practices andstress the collective effort needed to prevent cyber intrusions and scams.<\/p>\n The October Cybersecurity Awareness Month campaign has been launchedunder the theme: \u2018Defending the Digital Line.\u2019<\/p>\n Launching the month-long campaign, Chief Information officer of MTN Ghana,Bernard Acquah, said, \u201cThis October,we will focus on the \u201cpeople\u201d part of cybersecurity, providing information and resources to help educate users and ensure all individuals make smart decisions whether on the job or at home \u2013 now and in the future. With so much of our lives spent online, it\u2019s more important than ever to take a proactive approach in protecting yourself and the organization you work for.\u201d<\/p>\n Mr. Acquah added, \u201cSecurity is the responsibility of all of us and I urge you to take advantage of this month\u2019s activities to build the requisite knowledge required to protect the organization and yourself from cyber-attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n Activities lined up for the monthinclude customer-based sensitisation messages via social media and SMS focused on sub-themes including \u2018Phight the Phish\u2019, Cybersecurity Common sense, etc. There will also be special interactive sessions with students in second cycle Institutions as well as anengagement with Parent-Teacher Associations in selected basic schools in Accra, Ashanti, and Western Regions.<\/p>\n A public forum will also be organised virtually with a seasoned IT expert in the cyber space to discuss the theme for the month.
