Former President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has asked Ghanaians to hold all institutions of government accountable for their service to the people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Absolute accountability, he said, when placed on state agencies and institutions will go a long way to remedy many of the systemic problems that affect our African people.<\/span><\/p>\n

Mr Mahama made these remarks as part of a speech he delivered at the Liberty University in the United State of America.<\/span><\/p>\n

Absolute accountability, not just by the government but by the institutions of state in service to the people and not themselves, will go a long way to remedy many of the systemic problems that affect our African people.<\/span><\/p>\n

When it comes to accountability in Ghana, governments have always been the focus while civil servants create loopholes to steal cash from the state.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, because these civil servants are not politicians, these individuals are mostly left off the hook while politicians struggle and are given all sorts of names.<\/span><\/p>\n
