The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says President Akufo-Addo\u2019s latest assurance to deal with his appointees alleged to be involved in galamsey activities cannot be taken seriously.<\/p>\n
For the party, that is also a \u201cuseless rhetoric\u201d of President Akufo-Addo. As such, it should be ignored completely.<\/p>\n
According to the NDC, President Akufo-Addo has not demonstrated enough commitment to deal with party bigwigs behind the illegality.<\/p>\n
The National Communications Officer of the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi said at a press Thursday, October 6, at the party\u2019s headquarters.<\/p>\n For him, the President must back his \u201crhetoric\u201d with action if he wants to be taken seriously.<\/p>\n \u201cPresident Akufo-Addo\u2019s comment on this matter shows clearly that he hasn\u2019t repented from shielding his officials who are engaged in illegal mining and proves what a walking contradiction he is, as he continues to skirt around this very important issue\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Ghanaian people are simply tired of the President\u2019s cocktail of empty and useless rhetoric on this subject of galamsey.<\/p>\n We are saying to him today, that it is either we begin to see action on his part or he should simply spare us his empty talk\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n Mr Gyamfi added that President\u2019s resolve to end the menace is a\u00a0\u201ccomplete 419 scam\u201d.<\/p>\n President Akufo-Addo on Wednesday, at a closed-door meeting with the National House of Chiefs and Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives over the canker.<\/p>\n At the said engagement, President Akufo-Addo asked them to help him end the menace.<\/p>\n But the NDC has asked Ghanaians to ignore this assurance.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The National Democratic Congress (NDC) says President Akufo-Addo\u2019s latest assurance to deal with his appointees alleged to be involved in galamsey activities cannot be taken seriously.
