He won. Just being mentioned. How long has a man been in here? It hasn\u2019t been a long time since he started music, but then he got a nomination in no time. He has won.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Makaa Maka\u2019 hitmaker added that Black Sherif\u2019s nomination and consistent growth are even more impressive when people notice he is being himself and staying away from copying trends or joining the new Afrobeats craze.<\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"cPveqPyO1XI\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Black Sherif didn\u2019t lose BET \u2013 Reggie Rockstone eulogises singer as he drops his first album\" width=\"696\" height=\"522\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/cPveqPyO1XI?feature=oembed&#038;enablejsapi=1\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>\u201cThis person doesn\u2019t play Afrobeat or Hip Hop, and you get his whole vibe. He really defines what I always tell everyone. You don\u2019t need to follow trends. Everyone is doing Afrobeats, and he went the other way.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s very hard right now not to be influenced by what is going on around you. That is why it\u2019s difficult to tell the difference between Ghanaian musicians and Nigerian artistes. He is just like Kwaw Kese, he never changes his style,\u201d he noted.<\/p>\n<p>Reggie Rockstone said he is glad to be alive to witness some of these growths in the music industry.<\/p>\n<p>Black Sherif was the only Ghanaian that was nominated for the 2022 BET Hip Hop award. He was nominated in the coveted Best International Flow category with stiff competition from UK\u2019s Knucks, South Africa\u2019s Blxckie, France\u2019s Benjamin Epps and five others.<\/p>\n<p>France\u2019s Benjamin Epps took home the award.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, on Thursday, rapper Black Sherif released his much-anticipated debut album \u2018The Villain I Never Was\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Purposefully biographic, \u2018The Villain I Never Was\u2019 is about Black Sherif\u2019s trials and tribulations.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-myjoyonline-com wp-block-embed-myjoyonline-com\"\/>\n<p>\u201cIt took me everything to give life to this body,\u201d the 20-year-old artiste said. \u201cThe one thing in my life that I gave everything up for.
