Kanye West claims he has overcome \u201cmind control\u201d amid ongoing uproar over his \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d fashion show stunt.<\/p>\n
The rapper, 45, made the remark while doubling down on his display of a controversial T-shirt bearing the slogan during his pop-up Paris Fashion Week catwalk show on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
He said during a series of social media posts about the fallout from the show: \u201cGOD IS GOOD I\u2019M USED TO ATTACKS FROM HOLLYWOOD ACTORS SO TO GET SUPPORT FOR STANDING MY GROUND IS AMAZING WE BROKE THE MIND CONTROL NOBODY IS TRAUMA DRUNK NO MORE GOD IS FIGHTING THIS BATTLE FOR US.\u201d<\/p>\n
Despite the controversy, West has been backed by Sean \u2018Diddy\u2019 Combs and Bob Marley\u2019s granddaughter.<\/p>\n
Watch video:<\/strong><\/p>\n But Diddy, 52, also admitted the shirts were \u201ctone deaf\u201d and said they had left him reeling as West continues to be criticised over including tops bearing the slogan during a Paris Fashion Week show.<\/p>\n He said about the rapper in a new interview on \u201cThe Breakfast Club\u201d radio show on Wednesday: \u201cMy boy is a super, super, super free thinker. And a lot of times, what he means is, like, misconstrued, you know what I\u2019m saying?\u201d<\/p>\n Diddy added people \u201cdon\u2019t have to condemn Kanye or cancel him\u201d \u2013 but admitted the shirts were \u201cvery tone-deaf.\u201d<\/p>\n He said: \u201cI understand white lives do matter, but it\u2019s not that. (\u2018Black Lives Matter\u2019] was our slogan. That wasn\u2019t our slogan to go share with nobody else\u2026 because right now, we\u2019re the ones that are dying, that are incarcerated, that are left in poverty.<\/p>\n \u201cYou have to be unapologetically black and love your people and love your tribe first.\u201d<\/p>\n Diddy also admitted he needs \u201ca couple of days to get over\u201d West\u2019s design.<\/p>\n Related video:<\/strong><\/p>\n Controversy erupted after Kanye staged a surprise runway show in Paris on Tuesday that saw a choir of children, including the designer\u2019s daughter North, providing the soundtrack to models including Naomi Campbell hitting the catwalk \u2013 though Naomi did not wear the \u2018White Lives Matter\u2019 shirt.<\/p>\n The top featured a photo of Pope John Paul II on the front and was worn by models on the catwalk and by Ye, as West has rebranded himself, along with the right-wing commentator Candace Owens, a guest at the show.<\/p>\n Despite outrage over the T-shirt, Bob Marley\u2019s granddaughter has said she won\u2019t be silenced by critics of her wearing the top with West.<\/p>\n Selah Marley, 23, said in a lengthy Instagram stories post those offended by the move are suffering from a \u201chive mentality\u201d.<\/p>\n She also used her @selah Instagram account to share a text she sent to a number she believed was West\u2019s saying she wanted to explore the \u201cdepth behind\u201d the \u201cconversation\u201d they started with the top.<\/p>\n West has recently stoked controversy by aligning himself with Donald Trump and declaring \u201cslavery was a choice\u201d.<\/p>\n
