The two sides were set to go to trial later this month as Twitter attempted to force Musk to keep up his end of the agreement.<\/p>\n<p>Musk had claimed Twitter had misled him about the number of bots on the platform and had raised\u00a0concerns\u00a0about issues disclosed by the company\u2019s former head of security who filed a whistleblower complaint against the company.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\" wp_automatic_readability=\"8.0277777777778\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\" wp_automatic_readability=\"9.4444444444444\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Twitter issued this statement about today\u2019s news: We received the letter from the Musk parties which they have filed with the SEC. The intention of the Company is to close the transaction at $54.20 per share.<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Twitter Investor Relations (@TwitterIR) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TwitterIR\/status\/1577380758192197632?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 4, 2022<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>But Musk, once again, abruptly reversed course on Tuesday, telling Twitter that he would be willing to proceed with the original terms of the deal.<\/p>\n<p>In the letter filed with the SEC, Musk\u2019s lawyers say they will go ahead with the agreement first struck in April if Delaware Chancery Court will \u201cadjourn the trial and all other proceedings related\u201d to the ongoing lawsuit.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not yet clear when the acquisition could actually close. Twitter\u2019s shareholders have already voted\u00a0to approve\u00a0the deal, but both sides will now also need to wait for Delaware\u2019s Chancery Court\u2019s response.<\/p>\n<p>Musk, who has said he intends to take Twitter private, could eventually bring dramatic changes to Twitter.
