Photo credit: Ghana National Gas Company<br \/>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The slowing global economy is impacting countries in different ways.<\/p>\n<p>Ghana\u2019s first skeleton Olympian, Akwasi Frimpong, wants to use his likeness to impact his country\u2019s economy in a positive way.<\/p>\n<p>Frimpong says he is not a big fan of traditional sponsorships where athletes just wear a logo on their chests.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Frimpong is more about partnerships where, he says, the relationship has a stronger foundation and both parties work to help each other grow.<\/p>\n<p>Frimpong visited the company headquarters for Ghana Gas last week in the nation\u2019s capital of Accra, as well as a gas plant in the Western region of Ghana.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-04-at-1.04.55-PM-1.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><em><strong>Photo credit:\u00a0Ghana National Gas Company\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>His goal was to get a better understanding of how Ghana Gas operates and get to know the people who carry out the company\u2019s mission \u201cto contribute to Ghana\u2019s Gas economic development\u2026 in a safe, cost-effective, responsible and reliable manner to customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-04-at-1.04.56-PM.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><em><strong>Photo credit:\u00a0Ghana National Gas Company<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Frimpong also used the opportunity to visit schools in the Ashanti Region in Kumasi, Ghana, where he taught more than 600 kids between ages 8 and 15 about the power of resilience and getting out of their comfort zones.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/WhatsApp-Image-2022-10-04-at-1.04.58-PM.jpeg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><em><strong>Photo credit: Arnold Aglo Arni<\/strong><\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI have proudly been wearing the\u00a0Ghana National Gas Company\u00a0logo on my skeleton suit since 2019.
