Gigi Hadid has branded Kanye West a \u201cbully and a joke\u201d.<\/p>\n
The 27-year-old model has come to the defence of Vogue editor Gabrielle Karefa-Johnson after the \u201cStronger\u201d rapper mocked her style choices in response to her criticism of his widely-criticised \u201cWhite Lives Matter\u201d shirts.<\/p>\n
Commenting on one of Kanye\u2019s Instagram posts, Hadid wrote: \u201cYou wish u had a percentage of her intellect. You have no idea haha\u2026If there\u2019s actually a point to any of your s*** she might be the only person that could save u.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs if the \u2018honor\u2019 of being invited to your show should keep someone from giving their opinion..? Lol. You\u2019re a bully and a joke.(sic)\u201d<\/p>\n
Watch video:<\/strong><\/p>\n Hadid later took the dispute to her own Instagram Story, slamming Kanye for his \u201cimmature bully behaviour\u201d and warning of how \u201cdangerous\u201d constantly giving him a platform to air his controversial views can be.<\/p>\n She wrote: \u201cI was trying very hard not to give that man air time, but publicly bullying someone who criticises your work on your massive platform is another level of ridiculousness to me. <\/p>\n \u201cIf you can\u2019t take it don\u2019t dish it. If you can\u2019t take criticism, especially the smart, nuanced, and kind criticism that GKJ provided [after] yesterday\u2019s show, then don\u2019t put work out for public consumption.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is immature bully behaviour. It\u2019s behaviour that we have all enabled by continuing to engage with this work for the sake of vitality, web traffic, mere curiosity, or whatever it is. <\/p>\n \u201cEnough. It\u2019s not smart. It\u2019s not interesting. It\u2019s not nuanced. It\u2019s dangerous.\u201d<\/p>\n The model described the writer as \u201cone of the most important voices in our industry,\u201d and argued Karefa-Johnson could \u201cschool that disgraceful man in more ways than he knows.\u201d<\/p>\n Hadid spoke out after West posted a photo of Karefa-Johnson on his Instagram account, in which the fashion journalist wore a striped skirt, yellow graphic tee and corduroy trench coat teamed with brown boots, a blue Balenciaga bag, sunglasses and a chunky necklace.<\/p>\n West captioned his post: \u201cThis is not a fashion person. You speak on Ye Ima speak on you Ask Trevor Noah.\u201d<\/p>\n Referencing Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour he wrote in another post: \u201cI KNOOOOOW ANNA HAAAATES THESE BOOTS (sic)\u201d<\/p>\n The \u201cGold Digger\u201d hitmaker hit out at Gabrielle in response to his criticism of the \u2018White Lives Matter\u2019 her debuted at his Yeezy fashion show in Paris on Monday.<\/p>\n Sharing a video from the show, she wrote on her Instagram Story: \u201cI\u2019m fuming\u2026 collecting my thoughts \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n After branding the design \u201cindefensible behaviour\u201d, she added on another post: \u201cI guess I get what he tried to do\u2013 he thought it was duchampian. It wasn\u2019t. It didn\u2019t land and it was deeply offensive, violent and dangerous.(sic)\u201d<\/p>\n
