{"id":1216286,"date":"2022-10-04T16:45:08","date_gmt":"2022-10-04T16:45:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/04\/eoco-arrests-seven-suspects-engaged-in-cybercrime\/"},"modified":"2022-10-04T16:45:08","modified_gmt":"2022-10-04T16:45:08","slug":"eoco-arrests-seven-suspects-engaged-in-cybercrime","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/04\/eoco-arrests-seven-suspects-engaged-in-cybercrime\/","title":{"rendered":"EOCO arrests seven suspects engaged in cybercrime"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Seven people have been picked up by the Economic and Organised Crime office (EOCO) for their alleged involvement in cybercrime activities.<\/p>\n<p>The suspects were arrested following an intelligence-led swoop at a house at Manhean in Accra.<\/p>\n<p>According to EOCO, 28 suspects believed to be engaged in fraudulent activities were initially taken into custody.<\/p>\n<p>It was determined that 21 of them were victims of human trafficking from Nigeria to Ghana.<\/p>\n<p>The remaining suspects were remanded into custody while EOCO commences investigations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOn 26th September 2022, the Economic and Organised Crime Office conducted an intelligence-led swoop at a house at Manhean, Obeyeyie in the Greater Accra Region. At the end of the exercise 28 Nigerians, suspected to be engaged in Prohibited Cyber Activities, were taken into custody.\u201d<\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"\" dir=\"auto\">\n<div id=\"jsc_c_3du\" class=\"d2hqwtrz r227ecj6 gt60zsk1 o9wcebwi\" data-ad-comet-preview=\"message\" data-ad-preview=\"message\">\n<div class=\"alzwoclg cqf1kptm siwo0mpr gu5uzgus\">\n<div class=\"jroqu855 nthtkgg5\">\n<div class=\"l7ghb35v kjdc1dyq kmwttqpk gh25dzvf jikcssrz n3t5jt4f\">\n<p>\u201cAfter our initial screening, 21 of the persons were determined to be victims of Human Trafficking from Nigeria to Ghana.
