{"id":1215492,"date":"2022-10-03T14:23:15","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T14:23:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/03\/ofori-atta-hints-of-plans-to-review-e-levy-to-ensure-compliance\/"},"modified":"2022-10-03T14:23:15","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T14:23:15","slug":"ofori-atta-hints-of-plans-to-review-e-levy-to-ensure-compliance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/10\/03\/ofori-atta-hints-of-plans-to-review-e-levy-to-ensure-compliance\/","title":{"rendered":"Ofori-Atta hints of plans to review E-Levy to ensure compliance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The government has hinted at plans to review the electronic transfer levy (E-levy) to ensure tax compliance.<\/p>\n<p>The e-levy imposes a 1.5 percent charge on all electronic transfers including mobile money and bank transfers.<\/p>\n<p>The government says despite an impressive outcome from the levy for the first and second quarters of the year, there is a need to broaden the tax net to enhance domestic revenue mobilization.<\/p>\n<p>Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta made this known during a press briefing on the economy last week.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Ghana Revenue Authority has intensified its efforts to shore up domestic revenue, particularly in relation to the enforcement of compliance measures.
