South African singer and songwriter Zahara has said that fame and popularity were not her goals when she decided to be an artiste.<\/p>\n
According to her, she wanted to write music to inspire people from across the globe.<\/p>\n
Speaking to Lexis Bill on JoyFM, Zahara said that \u201cI wasn\u2019t writing my music to be in the industry. I never knew about the industry. I wrote my music to inspire people, to give hope to people.\u201d<\/p>\n
She explained that having people listen to her songs even in Ghana to the point she is a household name is proof that God can change the life of people including her.<\/p>\n
Zahara stated that it is important people do not rush through their journeys but rather be patient and wait for their time.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn life, do not hurry\u2026you might hurry thinking you\u2019ll get to your own stop in time, no it doesn\u2019t work like that. You must wait for your destiny,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Zahara added that \u201cif ever in life you want to be something, you believe you are somebody, you believe in something, never give up on your dream or your vision. Don\u2019t want to be called a dreamer, be called an achiever. Dream and achieve.\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the singer is expected to perform at the seventh Exclusive Men of the Year (EMY) Africa Awards\u00a0slated for Saturday,<\/strong> October 1, at the Accra international conference centre, Accra.<\/p>\nThe ceremony was established to honour and celebrate eminent men exclusively.<\/p>\n
Zahara, whose music has been classified loosely as \u2018Afro-soul\u2019, will thrill participants at the Awards with her captivating songs, in her native Xhosa language and in English.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
