Richarlison saw a banana hurled in his direction<\/strong><\/p>\n A banana was thrown from the crowd at Brazil players celebrating a goal from forward Richarlison in the side\u2019s 5-1 friendly win over Tunisia in Paris on Tuesday.<\/p>\n Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison, who was celebrating scoring Brazil\u2019s second goal of the game, said racism will continue \u201cevery day and everywhere\u201d if it goes unpunished.<\/p>\n \u201cAs long as it\u2019s \u2018blah blah blah\u2019 and they don\u2019t punish, it will continue like this, happening every day and everywhere. No time bro!\u201d Richarlison said in a Twitter post after the match.<\/p>\n Brazil striker Rodrigo said the side are \u201caccustomed\u201d to dealing with racist incidents and called for the abuse to stop.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are accustomed, it always happens with our national team,\u201d Rodrigo told Spanish radio station COPE. \u201cIt needs to stop.\u201d<\/p>\n FIFA announced on Wednesday it would investigate the incident.<\/p>\n It said in a statement: \u201cFirst and foremost, FIFA strongly rejects any form of racism and violence and has a very clear zero tolerance stance against such behaviour in football.<\/p>\n \u201cFIFA will investigate the incident in yesterday\u2019s game in Paris.\u201d<\/p>\n The Brazilian football federation also condemned the incident and reinforced its stance to \u201cfight against racism,\u201d while the federation\u2019s president, Ednaldo Rodrigues, said he was shocked with what happened.<\/p>\n \u201cThe punishment for these actions needs to be more severe,\u201d Rodrigues said.<\/p>\n The team posed with an anti-racism banner before kick-off, weeks after Vinicius Junior, who plays for Real Madrid, was subjected to racism by Atletico Madrid fans before the teams\u2019 derby match on September 18.<\/p>\n \u201cWithout our black players, we wouldn\u2019t have stars on our shirts,\u201d the banner read.<\/p>\n The game was also briefly paused on two occasions as the crowd were implored not to point laser pens at Brazil players.<\/p>\n The win over Tunisia was Brazil\u2019s final game ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, where they will face Serbia, Cameroon and Switzerland in Group G.<\/p>\n \n\t<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" \u00a0 Richarlison saw a banana hurled in his direction A banana was thrown from the crowd at Brazil players celebrating a goal from forward Richarlison in the side\u2019s 5-1 friendly win over Tunisia in Paris on Tuesday.
