Gyakie<\/strong><\/p>\n Songstress Gyakie was the only Ghanaian female artiste to perform on the Global Citizen Festival stage at the Black Star Square in Accra on Saturday night, and she indeed made her colleagues proud.<\/p>\n This was because she did an incredible job of representing the country and doing her part in being a contributing voice for global change.<\/p>\n The fast-rising singer started her performance with the reggae song \u2018Waka Waka\u2019 off her recently released \u2018My Diary\u2019 EP. \u00a0An unlikely song intro to her performance, Gyakie delivered an amazing live rendition of the song with the help of the Ghana Army Regimental Band, while the Ghana flag and branded Gyakie flags were waved behind her: a statement of who she is and where she is from.<\/p>\n Clad in a beautiful outfit by Eleanore, Gyakie thrilled fans with \u2018Far Away\u2019 and her hit single, \u2018Forever\u2019, the remix, before ending her act with her current hit, \u2018Something\u2019.<\/p>\n \u201cBefore I do anything, I try to picture two or three girls that look up to me. I have their faces etched in my mind as a reminder of my responsibility to show up in a way that inspires them and lets them know they can be anything they want to be, no matter the odds against them,\u201d she said about her influences.<\/p>\n The Global Citizen Festival is the world\u2019s longest-running global campaign calling for an end to extreme poverty.
