Christian Bale avoided Chris Rock on the set of \u201cAmsterdam\u201d because he was too \u201cbloody funny\u201d.<\/p>\n
The 48-year-old actor is known for his method acting on set, but he struggled to get into character while make David O. Russell\u2019s new movie because his co-star kept making him laugh.<\/p>\n
He told IndieWire: \u201cI remember his first day, I was excited to meet him, I\u2019m a big fan of his standup. Then he arrives, and he\u2019s doing some things\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cDavid [O. Russell] told him to tell me some stories that I didn\u2019t know he was gonna tell me, which is the way David works often. And I was loving it.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut Chris is so bloody funny and I found that I couldn\u2019t act, because I was just becoming Christian laughing at Chris Rock.<\/p>\n

Because if I get to know people too much, I find I just don\u2019t believe what I\u2019m doing in the scene.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s a contrast to the way Margot Robbie and John David Washington worked on the film, as the cast mates forged a close bond as it was the first time they\u2019d worked under \u201cAmerican Hustle\u201d filmmaker Russell.<\/p>\n Robbie recently said: \u201cWe immediately kind of clung to each other, like, \u2018OK, are you scared? Because I\u2019m scared. Ah! What do we do?<\/p>\n \u201cThen, you dive in headfirst and you have the time of your life, and Christian (Bale\u2019s) going like, \u2018Don\u2019t worry. It\u2019s always like this. You never know what\u2019s going to happen when you go to work that day\u2019, and you really don\u2019t, and that is thrilling.\u201d<\/p>\n
