Pharmacist and CDD-Ghana Fellow, Kwame Sarpong Asiedu, has quizzed whether Fitch were deliberately targeting Ghana too during John Dramani Mahama’s regime as president.<\/p>\n

In a post shared on his official Facebook page on Saturday, 24th September 2022, he wrote;<\/p>\n

“Sometimes you hear and read stuff and ask yourself how dumb people think we are. So Fitch downgraded Ghana again yesterday and the chorus from some circles is that they are deliberately targeting Ghana. Like seriously, why would they?\u00a0“.<\/p>\n

“When John Dramani Mahama was President, were they deliberately targeting Ghana too?<\/strong>“.He quizzed.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s so special about Ghana to merit such treatment when our neighbours aren\u2019t being targeted? Kwame Aseidu Sarpong remarked. Have those who peddled these insanities checked the posts they made between 2014 and 2016 when there were similar downgrades? Anyway, some of us have checked their posts and it makes their assertions ludicrous.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He argued that some people are claiming Prof Steve Hanke has been influenced financially by the former President or his party the NDC, to denigrate the Ghanaian Cedi and our economy. Have those who peddled this checked his historic posts, tweets and area of research interests? If they did they will know he doesn\u2019t only focus on Ghana.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He advised people to please show Ghanaians some respect and stop making a jester of themselves by partaking in such absurdity. “We can agree or disagree with the positions of Finch or Hanke but let\u2019s do so with an intellectual spin and not based on pedestrian propaganda.” Kwame Aseidu Sarpong added.<\/p>\n
