Following a notice of dismissal filed by the plaintiffs for a lawsuit involving allegations of molestation against comedians Tiffany Haddish and Aries Spears, Haddish says the suit has cost her work.<\/p>\n
The \u201cGirls Trip\u201d star talked to TMZ about the aftermath of her and Spears being accused of having \u201cgroomed and molested\u201d two then-minor siblings years ago in\u00a0a lawsuit originally filed earlier this month in Los Angeles Superior Court.<\/p>\n
\u201cI lost everything,\u201d\u00a0she told a TMZ photographer\u00a0when she was questioned at LAX airport on Wednesday. \u201cAll my gigs are gone.\u201d<\/p>\n
The complainants were referred to as \u201cJane Doe\u201d and \u201cJohn Doe\u201d in the suit, which stated their names are being withheld to protect their privacy.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint, a copy of which was obtained by CNN, \u201cJane Doe\u201d and \u201cJohn Doe\u201d were 14 and 7, respectively, when Haddish and Spears allegedly had them participate in sexually suggestive videos in separate incidents in 2013 and 2014.<\/p>\n
The pair are siblings and Haddish was a \u201clongtime family friend\u201d of their mother. The incidents allegedly occurred while Haddish was supposedly trying to help the youngsters get into show business, according to the suit.<\/p>\n
At the time the suit was filed, an attorney for Haddish said in a statement to CNN that the plaintiff\u2019s mother \u201chas been trying to assert these bogus claims against Ms. Haddish for several years.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cEvery attorney who has initially taken on her case \u2014 and there were several \u2014 ultimately dropped the matter once it became clear that the claims were meritless and Ms Haddish would not be shaken down,\u201d the statement read, adding that the mother \u201chas her adult daughter representing herself in this lawsuit. The two of them will together face the consequences of pursuing this frivolous action.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jane Doe filed a notice of dismissal Tuesday and the case was dismissed with prejudice based on documentation provided to CNN by a representative for Haddish.<\/p>\n
Dismissal with prejudice means the case cannot be refiled.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years \u2014 and we now know that she would never harm me or my brother or help anyone else do anything that could harm us,\u201d Doe said in a statement to\u00a0TMZ. \u201cWe wish Tiffany the best and are glad that we can all put this behind us.\u201d<\/p>\n
CNN has reached out to \u201cJane Doe\u201d for comment. Attorneys for Haddish and Spears have not responded to CNN\u2019s requests for comment.<\/p>\n
When asked by TMZ if she thought the dismissal might help her, Haddish responded, \u201cI don\u2019t know, bro. I don\u2019t have no job.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a separate TMZ video, the actress said she was \u201cconcerned about the kids and making sure they were OK,\u201d adding she felt \u201crelieved\u201d the lawsuit has been withdrawn and does not talk to Spears.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
