{"id":1209005,"date":"2022-09-22T11:02:45","date_gmt":"2022-09-22T11:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/22\/chelsea-sack-director\/"},"modified":"2022-09-22T11:02:45","modified_gmt":"2022-09-22T11:02:45","slug":"chelsea-sack-director","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/22\/chelsea-sack-director\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelsea Sack Director &#8211;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>Damian Willoughby<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chelsea said they have terminated commercial director Damian Willoughby\u2019s employment with immediate effect after receiving evidence he had sent \u201cinappropriate messages\u201d before being appointed by the Premier League side.<\/p>\n<p>Willoughby began working at Chelsea earlier this month following the club\u2019s takeover by an investment group led by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEvidence of inappropriate messages sent by Mr Willoughby, prior to his appointment at Chelsea FC earlier this month, has recently been provided to and investigated by the club,\u201d a club spokesperson told Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile they were sent prior to his employment at the club, such behaviour runs absolutely counter to the workplace environment and corporate culture being established by the club\u2019s new ownership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Willoughby has yet to reply to a request for comment from Reuters.<\/p>\n<p>The Telegraph reported that Willoughby had been sending the messages to a football finance agent from last year.
