It Won&#8217;t Happen Again!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Exactly how single does one have to be to audition for a spot on <em>The Bachelor<\/em> or <em>The Bachelorette<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s a question that\u2019s come up quite a lot in recent years, when cast members (usually men; let\u2019s face it) are found to have embarked on the courtship process despite having partners waiting for them at home.<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes the aspiring two-timers are rooted out and sent home early.<\/p>\n<p>But all too often they make it through to the end, thus putting their <em>new<\/em> romantic interest in a very awkward position.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript\/><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"683\" height=\"1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457696 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/erich-schwer-bachelorette-inline-bo-220802-fea029.webp.webp\" loading=\"lazy\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><figcaption>Gabby Windey and Eric Schwer are engaged \u2026 but their situation is complicated. (Photo via ABC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Such was the case with Eric Schwer, who got engaged to Gabby Windey on last night\u2019s <em>The Bachelorette <\/em>season finale.<\/p>\n<p>After the 29-year-old real estate analyst (somewhat reluctantly) popped the question to Gabby, host Jesse Palmer confronted Eric with some texts he had sent to a woman named Amanda Kaylor.<\/p>\n<p>The texts made it sound as tough Eric wanted Amanda to wait for him as he went on<em> The Bachelorette<\/em>, assuring Kaylor that he only auditioned for the show because he was \u201cstuck in [his] career path.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/gp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Gabby-Windeys-Bachelorette-Finalist-Erich-Schwer-Apologizes-After-Blackface-Photo-Resurfaces-1024x1024.webp.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-458304\"\/><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"1024\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-458304 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Gabby-Windeys-Bachelorette-Finalist-Erich-Schwer-Apologizes-After-Blackface-Photo-Resurfaces.webp.webp\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cYou just expected me to continue dating you while you go on a reality show to \u2018find love,\u2019\u201d she wrote to him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt isn\u2019t real, but you\u2019re right. I am sorry I really didn\u2019t think this all through. \u2026 I didn\u2019t realize the implications,\u201d Erich replied.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am sorry I thought we could get on the same page about this. (Photo via ABC)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>During last night\u2019s After the Final Rose segment, Erich admitted that he handled the situation \u201cpoorly\u201d \u2014 which is quite an understatement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI led her on and I want to own that. No hard feelings toward this girl at all. I understand her actions. \u2026 I didn\u2019t want to have a hard conversation,\u201d Schwer explained. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut I\u2019ve learned a lot from it. I want to own that 100 percent. I do not have any hard feelings for this girl. I didn\u2019t see a future but we were having fun. \u2026 I love [Gabby] with all my heart. 100 percent real. I never expected it. I want this to be forever.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After initially telling Gabby that he would prefer to date for a while longer before getting engaged, Eric eventually came around and decided to put a Neil Lane ring on it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou literally make me feel like I\u2019m the only person in the world. And I will fight every day for the rest of my life to keep that feeling.
