\nFormer Deputy Chief of Staff under erstwhile administration, Dr Valerie Esther Sawyer has taken a swipe at the current Chief of Staff of the republic of Ghana, Frema Osei-Opare, describing her as \u201cincompetent\u201d over the recent brouhaha about the entitlements of the former President.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nShe says Mrs Frema Osei-Opare\u2019s has exhibited incompetence relative to the issues surrounding the former President\u2019s emoluments.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nAccording to Dr Valerie Sawyer Mrs Osei-Opare\u2019s role as the Chief of Staff allows her to deal with certain issues that do not necessarily come to the attention of the President.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n\u00a0\u201cIt is a real shame! The shame goes to President Akufo-Addo and to his Chief of Staff, Frema Opare. I mention Frema’s name, especially, because at her level in government there are a number of matters she deals with that do not come to the attention of the President.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n\u201cIf she is competent, she will have a list in front of her of the emoluments of ex-presidents and their spouses.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n\u201cShe should know, off the cuff, What President John Mahama is entitled to and should be ticking the items off one after the other as soon as the constitutional commitments have been fulfilled.\u00a0<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n\u201cUnless of course, she is following orders from President Akufo-Addo to violate the laws of the land\u201d, she said in an article.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nDr Valerie made these remarks in an article responding to her former boss\u2019 entitlements issue that has been raging on in the media for some time now.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nFormer President Mahama in an interview with TV3 disclosed that the Akufo-Addo led government has refused to fully honour his entitlement as former Head of State of the Republic of Ghana.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nHe said he pays for his own utility bills, office rent, domestic staff, traveling expenses, among others.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nGovernment spokespersons have rebutted the former President\u2019s claims, adding that all the things that the former president spoke off are being taken care off.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \nBut DR Valerie Sawyer says that it is untruth for the Akufo-Addo government to claim that they have been paying the rent for former President’s Mahama’s office.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n \n\u201cIt is brazen falsehood for Akufo-Addo’s Government to say that they have been negotiating or engaging in talks with President John Mahama for an office for him”, he wrote.<\/span>\n<\/p>\n Content created and supplied by: OEntertainment (via Opera \n , . , .
