Actress Ama K. Abebrese says there is no clear decision by the state to resource the creative arts industry to enhance its global competitiveness and exposure.<\/p>\n

According to her, it is difficult for anyone to tell the specific identities associated with the sector because government has not invested enough into it.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn order for you to think of a place and instantly think of their identity, do you know what that means? It means they have invested in promoting that identity. Has there been any serious investment made in Ghana to promote a certain identity?<\/p>\n

\u201cGhanaians do have an identity, I will not say it\u2019s just one thing but as for the reason why you\u2019ll think of Hollywood and think America is as a result of billions of dollars of investments.<\/p>\n

\u201cSame goes for India and other parts of the world. Identity is not one thing. Identity could be a few things. I don\u2019t know if Ghana has an identity with arts,\u201d the movie producer told Noella Kharyne Yalley in an interview on Xclusives.<\/p>\n

The British-Ghanaian actress observed that just like how India can be noted for their movie industry (Bollywood), or Nigeria for Afrobeats, Ghana cannot be noted for any specific kind of arts because the state has not invested enough in carving a niche for itself in arts.<\/p>\n

Other industry players have made a case for an all-around investment in the sector and other thematic areas.<\/p>\n

This, they believe, will help to diversify the economy by paying more attention to the creative arts industry, which holds great potential to rake in revenue for the country.<\/p>\n
