Nigerian comedienne Real Warri Pikin<\/em> has revealed that the stand-up comedy industry in her home country is highly competitive and challenging, especially for women.<\/p>\n

She opined on A-Z <\/strong>show on Joy FM<\/strong>, on Saturday while sharing her experiences with host George Quaye.<\/p>\n

Real Warri Pikin<\/em> explained, \u201c\u2026you know, it\u2019s actually a male-dominated industry and for being a woman you have to work twice as hard, you have to prove yourself that you can do it\u2026 I feel like it\u2019s even a lot for me being a woman and trying to \u2026 make it in the stand-up comedy industry\u201d.<\/p>\n

Born Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha, the famed social media personality disclosed that she has endured difficulties and challenges since the launch of her career as a comedienne in 2018. Nevertheless, fans and stakeholders alike, heap accolades on her for the creative display and resilience.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople outside would say you\u2019re doing good, you started in 2018, you\u2019ve shut down London, Nigeria, you\u2019re going to Ghana, you\u2019re doing well, you\u2019re funny, but for me, it\u2019s not easy like that,\u201d she stressed.<\/p>\n

Howbeit the challenges and heavy competition in the industry, Real Warri Pikin<\/em> revealed that the comedy industry is lucrative.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
