Thandiswa Mazwai gets candid about boys, insisting she does not miss dating men.<\/p>\n
During her recent interview on 959 Breakfast with Dineo Ranaka and Phenduka, globally recognised singer and songwriter Thandiswa \u201cKing Tha\u201d Mazwai spoke candidly about seeing women only.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am only seeing women,\u201d confirmed Thandiswa in response to Phenduka\u2019s question about relationships.<\/p>\n
\u201cI haven\u2019t been with a man for like 15 years. I don\u2019t miss them. I keep them a stone throw away,\u201d said the singer.<\/p>\n
She went on to explain that she did see other men after her public split with fellow Bongo Maffin musician Stoan Seate, over a decade ago.<\/p>\n
The pair share a 22-year old daughter Malaika.<\/p>\n
\u201cI did have other boyfriends after Stoan, definitely\u2026I like boys\u2026 I just don\u2019t care to have meaningful relationships with them. I think they\u2019re good for fast love.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cZabalaza\u201d hitmaker made it clear that she does not want to be boxed in terms of her sexuality when Ranaka asked her \u201cwhat do you identify as?\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIn terms of? Mazwai asked.<\/p>\n
She continued: \u201cI don\u2019t know, what do you identify as? posing the same question to Ranaka.<\/p>\n
In her response, Ranaka said: \u201cI don\u2019t know I\u2019m a human being.\u201d<\/p>\n
And Phenduka said he identified as a straight male.<\/p>\n
Mazwai dodged the question and started talking about how she admired the bromance among men.<\/p>\n
\u201cMen love soccer players and also men love other men,\u201d shared Mazwai.<\/p>\n
It all started when Ranaka told Mazwai that she was privileged to have seen the \u201cnaughty\u201d side of her as she is always perceived as serious.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere is that public image of you that\u2019s almost put on that deep\u2026 respect me, fear me, sort of thing,\u201d Ranaka told Mazwai<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s a great mythology around me, sometimes I play into it and enjoy it and other times I completely dismantle it.,\u201d she responded.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know what makes me a naughty, beautiful woman.\u201d<\/p>\n
