{"id":1203579,"date":"2022-09-13T17:07:27","date_gmt":"2022-09-13T17:07:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/13\/anthony-joshua-accepts-terms-to-fight-tyson-fury-in-december\/"},"modified":"2022-09-13T17:07:27","modified_gmt":"2022-09-13T17:07:27","slug":"anthony-joshua-accepts-terms-to-fight-tyson-fury-in-december","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2022\/09\/13\/anthony-joshua-accepts-terms-to-fight-tyson-fury-in-december\/","title":{"rendered":"Anthony Joshua accepts terms to fight Tyson Fury in December"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" class=\"entry-thumb\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image_2022-09-13_121404193-696x392.png\"   alt=\"\" title=\"Anthony Josuah - Tyson Fury\/ Image Source: SkySports\"\/><\/div>\n<p>Anthony Joshua has accepted WBC champion Tyson Fury\u2019s terms for an all-British heavyweight fight on 3 December and is \u201cawaiting a response\u201d, his management company has said.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua, 32, was sent an offer by Team Fury, suggesting a 60-40 purse split to the champion and a December fight date.<\/p>\n<p>The fight was agreed on Friday but the announcement was delayed because of the death of the Queen last Thursday.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/22191989129,1002554\/MGL\/mgl_ado_atunwa_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>Initial terms have been agreed but Joshua is yet to sign a contract.<\/p>\n<p>In a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/258mgt\/status\/1569615011735027715?s=20&#038;t=DNOhkBVmAeniuPzYOxTQOw\">statement<\/a>\u00a0posted on Twitter and shared by Joshua, 258MGT said: \u201c258 and Matchroom Boxing can confirm, on behalf of Anthony Joshua, that we accepted all terms presented to us by Fury\u2019s team for a fight.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"\/>\n<p>Fury, 34, had said he was retiring\u00a0after beating Dillian Whyte\u00a0in April,\u00a0and reiterated that claim\u00a0last month, before challenging former world champion Joshua in a video posted on social media.<\/p>\n<p>Joshua\u00a0was beaten\u00a0by Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk in their rematch in Saudi Arabia last month, his third defeat in his past five bouts.<\/p>\n<p>There is a rematch clause with a 50-50 split if Joshua beats Fury, but the venue for the December fight, should it go ahead, is yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n<p>Cardiff\u2019s Principality Stadium has been mooted, while Saudi Arabia or another country in the Middle East could also host it.<\/p>\n<p>There are still hurdles to overcome before the fight is finalised, with both fighters signed to rival promoters and broadcasters, although two-time champion Joshua this week entered the WBC rankings in sixth position in another significant development.<\/p>\n<p>A boxer must be ranked in the top 15 by all governing bodies to challenge for a world title.<\/p>\n<p>            <!--  [embed]https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=videoseries[\/embed]<!--\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>--><\/p>\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"6wxXCpiDF7c\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Ex-Gratia Payments: Mahama&#039;s claim to scrap practice punched by new NPP Comms.
