Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea defeated King Faisal Babes 2-0 this afternoon in their betPawa Premier League game to move top of the table after the opening day fixtures.<\/p>\n

Goals in each half by Afriyie Mezark 11′ and Awauh Dramani 57′, won all three points for the home side to begin the campaign on a high.<\/p>\n

This encounter, was played at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, Dormaa-Ahenkro and, it capped off the opening day fixtures as eight matches were played between Saturday and Monday.<\/p>\n

The action started on Saturday afternoon in the capital when Great Olympics won all three points at the expense of Bechem United after beating the Hunters 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium.<\/p>\n

Six matches were played on Sunday with the pick of those being the Dormaa-Ahenkro encounter between Aduana FC and Accra Hearts of Oak.<\/p>\n

That encounter, ended 1-0 in favour of the home side as they took all three points to deny Hearts of Oak a point with striker Bright Adjei scoring the lone goal of the game in the second half.<\/p>\n

In other games played on Sunday, Dreams FC posted an impressive 1-0 away win over Gold Stars at Bibiani as did Medeama SC who won 1-0 on the road against Legon Cities in Accra.<\/p>\n

Karela United scored a 1-0 home win over new entrants Tamale City at Anyinase with debutants Kotoku Royals winning by the same margin at home in Cape Coast to Accra Lions.<\/p>\n

Another new entrant FC Samartex 1996, earned a priceless point away at the Aliu Mahama Stadium in Tamale as they drew goalless with RTU.<\/p>\n

The league will continue this weekend with the Matchday Two fixtures across the nation.<\/p>\n
