And the Media Is Blaming Meghan Markle."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>In the five days since Queen Elizabeth II passed away, the story has been covered by just about every media outlet on the planet from just about every angle imaginable.<\/p>\n<p>Naturally, there\u2019s been much focus on the Queen\u2019s final moments and the profound impact that her death has had upon her family.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, a great deal of coverage has been devoted to the question of which family members were able to make it to Balmoral to pay their last respects to the Queen before she passed away.<\/p>\n<p>Sadly, accounts concur that Prince Harry arrived in Scotland too late to say goodbye to his beloved grandmother.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript\/><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"695\" alt=\"Liz, Meghan, Harry\" class=\"wp-image-416253 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/liz-meghan-harry-scaled.jpg\" loading=\"lazy\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><figcaption>Harry and Meghan by the Queen\u2019s side during a royal engagement. (Photo via Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Royal correspondent Katie Nicholl offered a more nuanced take in an interview with <em>Entertainment Tonight<\/em>, claiming that the royal family \u201cwanted Prince Harry to be there,\u201d but refused an invitation to Meghan, thus putting Harry in a very tough spot.<\/p>\n<p>A different report from the Daily Mail insists that Meghan was invited, and was all set to make the trip \u2014 but she changed her mind upon learning that Kate Middleton would be remaining in London to look after her children.<\/p>\n<p>The tabloid alleges that Meghan didn\u2019t want to look like the less committed mother, and that her indecision on whether or not to make the trip might have cost Harry the opportunity to say goodbye to his grandmother.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"812\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/gp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/1662751880_223_Screen-Shot-2022-09-09-at-1.06.12-PM-1024x812.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457642\"\/><\/noscript><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1024\" height=\"812\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-457642 lazyload\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/Screen-Shot-2022-09-09-at-1.06.12-PM.png\" data-trellis-processed=\"1\"\/><figcaption>King Charles new role could dramatically impact his relationship with his sons. (Photo via Getty)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In all likelihood, we\u2019ll never know exactly how the situation played out.<\/p>\n<p>But there\u2019s a cruel irony in the fact that the media is using the death of a woman who so greatly valued family, honor, and duty as an opportunity to bash her grieving family and attack her grandson\u2019s sense of honor and duty.<\/p>\n<p>There have been hopes, bolstered by Charles\u2019 first speech as king, that the death of the Queen will help to heal the divides that have plagued the family in recent years.<\/p>\n<p>But clearly, it will do little to discourage the international tabloid press from its constant harassment of Harry and Meghan.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the five days since Queen Elizabeth II passed away, the story has been covered by just about every media outlet on the planet from just about every angle imaginable.
